Andrew McKenzie – Candidate Statement

Andrew McKenzie will advocate for your health needs. He will work to ensure that people who require treatment receive it.

Andrew is one of five candidates standing for Health Cuts Hurt. Health Cuts Hurt is a patient lobby group formed in 2003 in the face of a Ministry decreed $30 million dollar cut to health spending. Health Cuts Hurt has been involved in opposing the mothballing of Queen Mary Hospital and opposing the removal of thousands from the waiting lists.

Andrew believes a priority for the Board is to find solutions to the ongoing Emergency Department crisis. Andrew also has an interest in industrial relations and asks for your vote so that he can contribute to the region's health by bringing about a more stable and peaceful industrial climate. The more votes for Health Cuts Hurt, the more that can be achieved.

Andrew works as a barrister in Christchurch.
