Heather
Carter (an elected Board member) believes in everyone's right to affordable,
accessible health care - knowing you will be looked after when you need help.
Heather advocates for the health of all the people of Canterbury - urban and
rural, old and young.
Heather Carter is one of five candidates standing for Health Cuts Hurt. When the Ministry decreed Canterbury to be $30m over-funded, she fought against the resulting cuts to services. When asset sales included Queen Mary Hospital land, Heather attempted to stop this. Health Cuts Hurt opposes an ineffective wage negotiation framework and supports voluntary arbitration.
Heather again asks the people of Canterbury for your support to continue her work. She asks you to add other Health Cuts Hurt colleagues to the Board as there is still much to be done.
Heather Carter is mother to four adult children and former local President of National Council of Women.
